What's a 'themed stay'...
Our dream in renovating St Cuthbert's House is to provide a stunning base for you to explore and learn about something you’re interested in, by coming on a ‘themed stay’. All you need to do is get yourself here (or, if travelling from abroad, to the local railway station or airport,) and we’ll take care of absolutely everything else.
We’re still developing our portfolio of themes - do please suggest the ones you’d like to see - but presently we are offering four distinct themes. Our flagship stay is one which explores the cultural and spiritual heritage of Northumbria. Click here to find out more.
Northumberland’s photogenic landscapes make it the perfect place to come for a photographic themed stay, led by an expert photographer. We’ll take you to all the secret places. Click here for details.
If you’re an ornithologist, you’ll want to come on our birdwatching stay, led by a local expert, and which will take you out to the Farne Islands and other places ‘off the beaten track’. Click here for details.
Northumberland has more castles than any other county in England, and you can learn their stories as you visit them on our ‘Houses, Castles and Gardens’ theme. Details are here.
We’re working on other themes too, like literary weeks, and history trips, and chocolate tasting… Jeff really wants to do an Indian Cookery theme! One of these days….
